Variable Logo
The stories told through this magazine were widely varied. With that in mind, we landed on using a variable logo system to represent that variety. The individual shapes were inspired by the patterns and textures found as we explored Antigua and Guatemala City.
Color & Texture
Color and texture was entirely derived from the images within a given story. A prominent color from that section was used as an overlay on a highly textured image and then used as background elements for the layout.

Grids & Guides
The magazine was designed on a 12-column baseline grid. Due to the number of designers working on the publication, we needed to ensure there was a higher level of consistency between us. The rigidity of the baseline grid made maintaining alignment simpler while the 12-column system provided ample opportunities for creative layouts.
